All the noise (well, where it comes to Xiaomi) around town has been about the newly-launched Mi 11 Ultra—of course. But at the Mi Fan Festival 2021, Xiaomi also announced a number of other devices, including the latest iteration of the company’s popular fitness band, the Mi Smart Band 6. But if you want to spend a little less, the Redmi Note 10 Pro offers some of the best value you can find in a smartphone under RM1,000.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro MFF Special Edition is now available in Malaysia, although Xiaomi warns that only “extremely limited quantities” are available. In any case, availability begins from the 6th of April 2021, and you can make purchases on the official Xiaomi Lazada and Shopee stores now. Pricing is unchanged from the regular Redmi Note 10 Pro, and only a single memory configuration is available:

Redmi Note 10 Pro MFF Special Edition – 8GB RAM, 128GB storage – RM1,099

Specs recap

The Mi Fan Festival 2021 edition is actually identical to the regular Note 10 Pro. However, as a souvenir for fans, Xiaomi released the latest Redmi device with a “cosmic-inspired” design—depicting astronauts floating through galaxies. This is supposed to symbolise Xiaomi and Mi Fans exploring the “infinite possibilities of life” (whatever that means).

All of the fancy marketing language aside, the Redmi Note 10 Pro MFF Special Edition appears to be visually identical, besides a Mi Fan Festival 2021 icon on the back of the phone. You do get a Mi Fan Festival postcard with a photo of “Mi Bunny” astronauts, still. Only one colour is available: Gradient Bronze.

To recap, the Redmi Note 10 Pro features a 120Hz AMOLED 6.67″ display, while you get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G powering the device. This is mated to LPDDR4X RAM and UFS2.2 storage (8GB RAM, 128GB storage). On the back, the phone equipped with a quad-camera setup comprising a 108MP wide-angle shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP telemacro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, you’re looking at a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies.

The 5,020mAh battery sustaining the device can be charged via USB-C at 33W fast-charging. The best part? Xiaomi is shipping the device with a 33W fast-charger in the box, so you’ll be able to take full advantage of the max charging speeds supported. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and IP53 splash resistance certification.
