COVID-19: 1,294 new cases and 1,442 recoveries today, recovery rate still above 95%

Malaysia has recorded 1,294 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 347,972. There are 5 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,283.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,442 new recoveries and a total of 332,443 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.54% while the mortality rate remains at 0.37%.

There are currently 14,246 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 168 are in ICU while 78 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,294 new cases today, 26 are imported while 1,268 are transmitted locally. Selangor record the most with 455 new cases, followed by Sarawak with 217 new cases, Pulau Pinang with 139 cases and Johor with 103 new cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 10 new clusters today and 7 are workplace related. Below is the list of new identified clusters:

A total of 57 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Persiaran Freesia construction site cluster recorded the most with 76 new cases, followed by Sunsuria construction site cluster with 55 new cases and Persiaran Cassia Selatan cluster also with 55 new cases.
