COVID-19: 1,275 new cases and 1 death today, Selangor records 478 new cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,275 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 339,443. There’s one new death reported and the death toll is now 1,249.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,509 new recoveries and a total of 323,925 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.43% while the mortality rate is now 0.37.

There are currently 14,269 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 161 are in ICU while 70 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,275 new cases today, 1,243 are imported while 32 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 478 new cases, followed by Sarawak with 213 cases, Pulau Pinang with 137 cases and Johor with 120 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 13 new clusters today and 11 are workplace related. Below is the list of newly identified clusters:

A total of 61 clusters have recorded new cases. The Persiaran Freesia construction site cluster recorded the most with 50 new cases, followed by Persiaran Cassia Selatan cluster with 33 new cases.
