Fitbit Ace 3 is a RM328 kids fitness tracker which offers sleep-tracking and 8 days of battery life

Fitbit has introduced their Ace 3 fitness tracker for kids aged 6 and up. Their third children’s fitness tracker features “up to eight days of battery life”, a brighter screen and a sleep-tracking feature.

Like the previous Fitbit Ace fitness trackers, the Ace 3 was designed to help kids build healthy habits and increase physical activity. It lets parents also track their kid’s activity levels and how many hours they sleep.

Additionally—kids can use the Fitbit app (iOS, Android) to keep track of their activities, but they aren’t allowed to join the social aspects of app where people share workout photos. Ace trackers also have pedometers, but not heart rate monitors.

As for what’s new, the Ace 3 boasts up to 8 days of battery life, is water resistant up to 50 meters so kids can go swimming, as well as a 20 percent brighter screen. The tracker now also has animated clock face characters that change and grow as kids make progress toward their goal throughout the day—including a bunny, cat, Martian, and spaceship designs.

On the Fitbit app, kids can also “compete” with friends and family as they complete challenges. You can also make custom challenges for your kids to help encourage them to move more.

The Ace 3 tracks all-day steps. The app can show how every move, skip and jump adds up to a healthier, more active life.

And even though the Fitbit Ace watches were able to track kids’ sleep hours before, the Ace 3 features more detailed sleep patterns. You’ll be able to see if they’ve woken up or are restless in the middle of the night.

The Fitbit app can be used to to schedule bedtime reminders and silent alarms that gently wake kids with quiet buzzing on their wrists. You’ll also be able to display sleep targets.

The daily active minutes goal on each Fitbit Ace 3 is set to 60 minutes—which is CDC-recommended. And the daily step count is set at 10,000. The Ace 3 comes in two colours—Black/Sport Red and Cosmic Blue/Astro Green.

It is priced at RM328 and is available in Malaysia on 29 March 2021. According to Fitbit, you can pre-order the Ace 3 at major retailers in Malaysia including All IT Hypermarket, Flash Gadgets, Harvey Norman, Lazada, Timekeeper, Thunder Match and Shopee.

Garmin had released a kids fitness tracker—the Garmin Vivofit Jr 3—in October 2020. Like Fitbit, parents can also use an app to monitor their child’s activity and sleep data, and a Marvel-themed watch is currently priced at RM370.
