Malaysia has recorded 1,280 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 316,269. This is the lowest number of cases recorded in a day since 28th December 2020. There are 9 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,186.
The Ministry of Health has reported 2,345 new recoveries and a total of 296,379 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 93.71% while the mortality rate is at 0.38%.
There are currently 18,704 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 155 are in ICU while 76 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,280 new cases today, 2 are imported while 1,278 are transmitted locally. Selangor reported the most with 464 cases, followed by Johor with 165 cases, Sarawak with 163 cases and Pulau Pinang with 143 cases.
