With Malaysia’s national COVID-19 immunisation programme underway, the public is encouraged to sign up for the vaccine via the MySejahtera app. It appears there are are some confusion as some are unsure if their registration has been accepted.
In the first updated release with the vaccine section, the MySejahtera app didn’t have a proper Thank You page. This was then updated in the later version to provide assurance that their registration has been received.
Yesterday, there’s another change in the app which shows a checklist that covers registration, eligibility, appointment and issuance of digital certificate. Those who registered earlier didn’t get to see this interface even when they checked back on the MySejahtera app recently.
This has sparked concerns that their registration wasn’t counted and some have encouraged others to resubmit again. If you do it again, it will record 4th of March as your new registration date.
Responding to concerns on Twitter, Khairy Jamaluddin, the minister in charge of the COVID-19 vaccination efforts, has assured that their past registration did go through. The new interface will be pushed overnight.
To prove that previous registration was counted, Khairy has shared a screenshot which indicated that his information was registered on 28th February 2021. So if you’ve registered earlier, there’s no need to resubmit twice. He also added that the appointments will be given based on the first time you registered.
For those who don’t have MySejahtera, you may register on VaksinCovid.gov.my or via a hotline number which will be revealed tomorrow, 5th March 2021. The MySejahtera app will be updated in the coming weeks which will allow users to register dependents for vaccination.
As of yesterday (3rd March 2021), Malaysia has vaccinated a total of 80,336 people since 24th February 2021. That’s an increase to 27,049 people receiving a jab in a single day, versus 20,010 people on 2nd March 2021.
Despite the slow start, Malaysia has already vaccinated more people compared to Australia and Japan, which have started their vaccinations several days before Malaysia.
