Malaysia has recorded 1,924 new COVID-19 cases today which is the lowest reported since 5th January 2021. This brings the total number of infections to 293,698. There are 12 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,100.
The Ministry of Health has reported 3,752 new recoveries and a total of 263,761 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 89.81% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.
There are currently 28,837 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 205 are in ICU while 91 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,924 new cases today, 6 are imported while 1,918 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 666 cases, followed by Johor with 257 cases, Sarawak with 219 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 218 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 8 new clusters and 5 are workplace related. Below is the list of new clusters identified:
A total of 93 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Perindustrian Pelepas cluster reported the most with 55 cases, followed by Tanjung Suria cluster with 47 cases and Tembok Tapah cluster with 41 cases.
