COVID-19: 5,709 new recoveries recorded while new cases rise slightly to 2,998 today

Malaysia has recorded 2,998 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 272,163. There are 22 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,005.

The Ministry of Health has reported 5,709 new recoveries and a total of 229,762 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 84.42% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 41,396 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 231 are in ICU while 115 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,998 new COVID-19 cases reported today, 7 are imported while 2,991 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,382 cases, followed by Johor with 436 cases, Negeri Sembilan at 233 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 226 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 13 new clusters today and 10 are workplace related. Below is the list of new COVID-19 clusters:

A total of 75 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Tanjung Suria cluster recorded the most with 380 cases, followed by Kebun Baru cluster with 186 cases and Industri TTJ cluster with 141 cases.
