This is why Pokemon is hosting a virtual Post Malone concert

Pokemon has announced that they are going to host a concert featuring a digitised version of singer/rapper Post Malone. The virtual concert is to celebrate Pokemon’s 25th anniversary, and you’d be able to view it at 8am, Friday, 28 February 2021 (Malaysian time).

“I’ve been a Pokemon fan for a long time. So the opportunity to headline the Pokemon Day concert celebrating 25 years is awesome,” Post Malone said in a news release.

According to the teaser, there will be a digitised version of Post Malone for the concert—rather than a livestream of a regular live performance. It is also meant to kick off Pokemon’s P25 Music program.

The Pokemon Company has been kind of vague about what P25 Music actually is, but Universal Music Singapore (UMS) revealed that a part of the program will be an album featuring 11 original songs by 11 artists—including Katy Perry and Post Malone. However, the posts teased by UMS have been deleted.

The Pokemon/Post Malone virtual concert will begin at 8am, Friday, 28 February 2021 (Malaysian time). Fans will be able to watch it via the Pokemon YouTube channel, the Pokemon Twitch channel, as well as the 25th anniversary website.

Additionally, Pokemon is also releasing a clothing collection with Levi’s to celebrate their 25th anniversary. The collections even includes a Misty-themed tank top for RM99, and Misty-themed shorts for RM299.
