COVID-19: 3,384 new cases and 13 deaths today, active cases still over 50,000

Malaysia has recorded 3,384 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 254,988. There are 13 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 936.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,774 new recoveries and a total of 202,269 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 79.3% while the mortality rate is at 0.4%.

There are currently 51,783 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 259 are in ICU while 122 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,384 new cases today, 15 are imported while 3,369 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,082 cases, followed by Johor with 777 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 435 cases and Kedah with 228 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified a total of 17 new clusters and 14 are workplace related. Below is the full list of the new clusters identified today:

A total of 85 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Perdana cluster recorded the most with 155 cases, followed by Jalan Air Hitam cluster with 108 cases and Tanjung Suria cluster with 101 cases.
