COVID-19: New cases drop to 4,214 today after 3 days of recording over 5,000 new cases

Malaysia has recorded 4,214 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 219,173. There are 10 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 770.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,280 new recoveries and a total of 170,329 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 77.7% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.

There are currently 48,074 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 316 are in ICU while 137 require respiratory support.

Out of the 4,214 new cases today, 9 are imported while 4,205 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,362 new cases, followed by Johor with 1,068 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 702 cases, Sabah with 276 cases and Perak with 193 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 14 new clusters today and 9 are workplace related. Below is the full list of new clusters:

A total of 73 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Jalan Puchong construction site cluster recorded the most with 322 cases, followed by Jalan Chulan construction site cluster with 85 new cases and Tembok Taiping cluster with 81 new cases.
