After leaving OnePlus, Carl Pei has finally announced his next venture and it is called Nothing. The new company is said to be focused on audio technology and it’s based in London.

Nothing is described as a forward-thinking consumer technology company that’s founded by Carl Pei and his team. They have received USD 7 million (about RM28.3 million) in seed financing in December 2020 which included several notable tech leaders and investors such Tony Fadell (inventor of the iPod), YouTuber Casey Neistat, Kevin Lin (co-founder of Twitch), Steve Huffman (Reddit CEO) and Josh Buckley (Product Hunt CEO).

Nothing CEO and founder, Carl Pei said, “Nothing’s mission is to remove barriers between people and technology to create a seamless digital future. We believe that the best technology is beautiful, yet natural and intuitive to use. When sufficiently advanced, it should fade into the background and feel like nothing.”

YouTuber Casey Neistat, who’s also an investor said “Consumer tech is a tidal wave of limitless potential. Nothing will be the brand at the forefront and I can’t wait for the world to experience their products.”

The company will release their first smart devices in the first half of 2021 but it isn’t clear if it’s going to be headphones or smart speakers. To be the first to know, you can register your email on their website or follow their social channels on Twitter and Instagram.
