Malaysia has recorded 2,027 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 122,845. There are 8 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 509.
The Ministry of Health has reported 1,221 new recoveries and a total of 99,449 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.
There are currently 22,887 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 123 are in ICU while 52 require respiratory support.
Out of the 2,027 new cases today, 16 are imported while 2,011 are transmitted locally. Selangor reported the most with 509 new cases, followed by Johor with 428 cases, Sabah with 383 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 313 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 11 new clusters today. This include Jalan Playar cluster in Selangor, Sri Suria cluster in Selangor, Bukit Semenyih construction site cluster in Selangor, Bukit Angkat cluster in Selangor, Parit Jamil cluster in Johor, Tombovo cluster in Sabah, Jalan Desa construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Raya cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Langit Selatan cluster in Pahang, Bah Sayap cluster in Sarawak and Mengkuang cluster in Terengganu.
A total of 53 active cluster have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Jalan Perindustrian cluster recorded the most with 200 new cases, followed by the newly identified Jalan Desa construction site cluster with 116 new cases and Beringin cluster with 65 new cases.
