Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), the operator of Klang Valley’s LRT, MRT, BRT and Monorail networks has announced a ‘My30 Plus 30’ promo to boost domestic tourism. With this offer, public transport users can enjoy a Buy 1 Free 1 promo for the My30 unlimited pass which provides unlimited usage for rail and bus services.

According to Prasarana, Rapid KL train and bus service users can use the free package for their next month’s renewal and the redemption period is between 15th January to 31st March 2021.

The My30 unlimited ride pass can be purchased starting tomorrow (21st December 2020) at all customer service counters at LRT, MRT, KL Monorail and BRT stations, as well as 8 selected bus hubs at Pasar Seni, KLCC, Section 2 Shah Alam, Greenwood, Sri Nilam, Sunway Pyramid, Pearl Point and Puchong Utama.

Limited Redemption via QR code

However, the redemption can only be made at two locations – East Wing of KL Sentral station and the Pasar Seni Bus hub. According to Rapid KL, users will need to redeem using a QR code and there will be limited redemptions available which are offered on a first come, first served basis.

This special pass is said to be one of the recently introduced domestic travel initiatives that was announced by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and it’s led by Tourism Malaysia.

The My30 pass allows commuters to enjoy unlimited rides on the LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL’s bus and MRT Feeder bus services for only RM30/month. Only Malaysian citizens with a valid MyKad or MyTentera are eligible to purchase the pass. Take note that you must also maintain a minimum Touch ‘n Go balance of RM5.00 at all times in your MyKad or MyTentera.

The My30 unlimited pass which was introduced in June this year is currently scheduled to end on the 31st of December 2020. It still isn’t clear if the RM30 pass will be extended for 2021. During the Budget 2021 tabling, the Finance Minister had announced the introduction of the My30 pass for Rapid Penang and Rapid Kuantan, along with a new RM5 pass for students and the disabled.

For those who are looking for a short term pass, you can get the MyCity Pass which costs RM5/day for unlimited rides on LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT. Users will need to activate the pass with a Touch ‘n Go card. More details here.
