The current Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor which was originally scheduled to end on the 20th of December has been extended until the end of 2020. This is applicable to all areas under the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and all areas in Selangor except for Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor.

In addition, the CMCO for Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat, Kulai in Johor, as well as Seremban and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan, Ipoh & Chemor in Hulu Kinta in Perak, Mukim 12 and Mukim 13 in Penang are also extended until 31st December 2020.

The National Security Council has also announced the end of the CMCO in several areas which include Kota Tinggi in Johor and Kulim in Kedah. It is worth mentioning that the nationwide movement control order is still scheduled to end on the 31st of December 2020. If an extension is required, the Prime Minister is expected to make another address to the nation.

Despite the current CMCO extension in selected areas, the government has already lifted interstate travel restrictions from 7th December 2020 with exception for areas that are placed under EMCO. On top of that, the restriction on the number of people per car is also lifted and you may ferry passengers up to the maximum legal limit.

Editor’s Note: Post updated with CMCO extension for Sabah.
