Although Malaysia’s 5G rollout has been deferred for at least two more years, Realme has introduced a new Realme 7 variant with 5G. While the exterior looks the same as the 4G version, the Realme 7 5G comes with a higher 120Hz screen refresh rate and a slightly different camera setup.
The Realme 7 5G is officially priced at RM1,299 in Malaysia and it comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Interestingly, that’s the same price as the Realme 7 4G variant. The first sale is taking place on the 18th of December 2020 only on Lazada Malaysia. As an early bird promo, they are giving away a Realme Hipster pouch with Realmeow badge for free. On top of that, you’ll also get free 1 year extra warranty.
If you prefer to buy it in-store, the Realme 7 5G will be available at all authorised dealers throughout Malaysia from the 25th of December 2020. Buyers will also get a free Realme Hipster Pouch with Realmeow badge.
The device comes in two colour options – Mist Blue and Flash Silver. The Flash silver variant gets a large “Realme” branding on the rear while the Mist Blue option has a dual-tone appearance with a smaller logo.
The Realme 7 5G feature a 6.5″ Full HD+ display that pushes a high 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor that’s paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
The device also gets a quad-camera setup which consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and two 2MP cameras for portrait B&W and macro. For selfies, the tiny punch-hole houses a 16MP front camera.
Powering the 5G device is a large 5,000mAh battery which supports 30W Dart Charge via USB-C. The device still comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and out of the box, it runs on Android 10.
