Ezviz C3X outdoor WiFi camera uses two lens for colour night vision

Ezviz has announced the arrival of its C3X Smart WiFi camera for the Malaysian market. Designed for outdoor surveillance, the Ezviz C3X claims to be the world’s first dual-lens security camera that is able to offer clear colour images even in extremely dark situations.

Pricing and availability

The Ezviz C3X is officially priced at RM539 and you can buy it in Malaysia via its official store on Lazada and Shopee. Alternatively, it is also available through physical distributor stores at major shopping malls nationwide.

Camera features

The major highlight is its dual 2MP camera setup combined with a pair of infrared lights. According to Ezviz, one camera is tasked to record the ambient brightness while the other unit is dedicated to capture colour information. With both cameras combined, it is able to reproduce an image that claims to be rich in details and realistic in colour. As a comparison, most smart CCTV cameras can only capture in black and white when night vision is enabled.

Ezviz claims that it can render colour images in extremely dark situations as low as 0.005 lux without the need of spotlights. This makes it ideal to be deployed in areas with poor lighting conditions.

The C3X records in 1080p Full HD resolution using the H.265 video compression standard. For storage, it accepts microSD card of up to 256GB and users can manage the camera and playback via the Ezviz app. There’s also the option to save the footages to an encrypted cloud storage or directly to an Ezviz NVR.

The camera is connected via 2.4GHz WiFi and it has dual antennas for better reception. The C3X has an IP67-rated dust and water resistance which Ezviz says can withstand rainy, sunny, stormy and snowy situations all year round.

Utilising AI, the CX3 has a motion detection feature which recognises people and vehicles in real time. You can also define specific hotzones which enables to camera to emit sound and flash a strobe light to deter intruders. What’s interesting is that you can even record your own voice to customise your greeting or deterrence message. The app is also able to push alert notifications if you set up the motion detection alarm.
