COVID-19: 1,109 new cases today, Sabah reported the most with 441 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,109 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 61,861. There are 2 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 350.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,148 new recoveries and a total of 50,204 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81.2% while the mortality rate is now 0.6%.

There are currently 11,307 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 113 are in ICU while 41 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,109 new cases today, 10 are imported while 1,099 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 441 cases, followed by Selangor with 175 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 167 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 154 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health, four new clusters have been identified. This include Jalan Tuaran cluster in Sabah, Jalan Haruan cluster in Negeri Sembilan, Puteh Lama construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur and Berinign cluster in Penang.

A total of 47 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The new Puteh Lama construction site cluster recorded the most with 118 cases, followed by Jalan Haruan cluster with 116 new cases and the new Jalan Tuaran cluster with 43 new cases.
