Oppo Reno Festive Virtual Marathon 2020: Over RM42,000 worth of prizes up for grabs

2020 has been a year like no other, and we’ve seen the rise of virtual events (and meetings) to ensure social distancing SOPs are met as the world battles the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. For runners, one of the sad things about the situation has been the cancellation of several notable marathons—although these have now gone virtual as well.

The Oppo Reno Festive Virtual Marathon 2020 is now open for registrations! Oppo says that the marathon will be a chance for you to test yourself against your greatest opponent: yourself. Basically, you’ll be running a total distance (5km/10km/21km/42km) on your own, and you’ll need to share your results, via any app/wearable before (potentially) winning a finisher kit, including prizes from Oppo.

The registration period is now open until the 12th of December 2020, and the competition will run from the 13th of December 2020 till the 3rd of January 2021. In order to win prizes worth up to RM42,000, you’ll need to accumulate as many kilometres as possible during the running period; results submission is from the 13th of December 2020 till the 8th of January 2021.

Until the 21st of of November 2020, registration for early birds (premium) is priced at RM49, or you can register until the 12th of December 2020 for RM59 (premium). You’ll receive a starter kit with a running T-shirt and an Oppo e-Voucher. Meanwhile, “premium” category finishers will receive a virtual cert, along with an AR medal and a (physical) drawstring bag.

Registration is open to Malaysian citizens and PRs aged 18 years and above.

Prizes

The minimum run distance per session is 5km, and the idea is to accumulate as many kilometres as possible during the competition period to win. Prizes are as follows:

1st Prize – RM1,500 + Oppo Reno 4 Pro
2nd Prize – RM1,000 + Oppo Reno 4
3rd Prize – RM800 + Oppo Watch (41mm)
4th Prize – RM500 + Oppo Enco W31
5th Prize – RM300 + Oppo Enco W31
6th to 10th Prize – Oppo Enco W31

Meanwhile, the first 30 runners who clock 100km will earn an Oppo Watch. Three winners who take creative pictures/videos with the Oppo Reno filter while running will also be chosen to win an Oppo Reno 4.
