COVID-19: New cases drop to 869 today, Malaysia records under 1,000 cases for 3 straight days

Malaysia has recorded 869 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 42,050. There are 6 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 300.

The Ministry of Health has reported 725 new recoveries and a total of 30,304 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 72.1% while the mortality rate is now 0.7%.

There are currently 11,446 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 82 are in ICU while 27 require respiratory support.

Out of the 869 new COVID-19 cases today, 1 is imported while 868 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 397 cases, followed by Selangor with 236 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 141 cases and Penang with 27 cases. Perlis, Terengganu, Pahang and Melaka recorded zero cases today.

According to the Ministry, there are 4 new clusters identified today.
