COVID-19: 799 new cases today, 466 reported in Sabah

Malaysia has recorded 799 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 30,889. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 249.

The Ministry of Health has reported 491 new recoveries and a total of 20,248 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 65.55% while the mortality rate is now 0.81%.

There are currently 10,392 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 90 are in ICU while 20 require respiratory support.

All 79 new cases today are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 466 cases, followed by Selangor with 150 cases, Labuan with 65 cases and Pulau Pinang with 35 cases. The states of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Melaka have recorded zero cases today.

The Ministry of Health has identified 8 new clusters today. This include Rumah Merah, Telipok and Sembulan clusters in Sabah, Merpati and Astaka clusters in Selangor, Titian cluster in Labuan, Gala cluster in Negeri Sembilan and Meldrum cluster in Johor.
