Vivo V20 and V20 Pro 5G Malaysia: Everything you need to know

Vivo has expanded its V20 smartphone lineup with the V20 and V20 Pro 5G. This comes almost a month after it introduced the V20 SE which retails for RM1,199.

The two new V20 devices offer a higher mid-range hardware and one of it supports 5G. Pre-orders are now available and Vivo Malaysia is bundling free gifts while stocks last.

Pricing and availability

Below is the official pricing of the V20 and V20 Pro 5G in Malaysia:

Vivo V20 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM1,499
Vivo V20 Pro 5G 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM1,899

According Vivo Malaysia, both devices will be available on the 24th of October 2020 and customers can pre-order now until the 23rd of October. For those that pre-order the V20 from Shopee and the V20 Pro 5G from Lazada will get to enjoy freebies worth up to RM788 and RM758 respectively while stocks last.

The Vivo V20 pre-order from Shopee comes with a leather duffle bag, an extended phone warranty and extended phone crack protection. They are also including a Starbucks card with RM30 credit to the first 50 customers. Every 5th customer will also get a Vivo TWS Neo earbuds during the pre-order period.

Meanwhile, the V20 Pro pre-order Lazada will come with an air purifier, a leather duffle bag, an extended phone warranty and crack protection . In addition, 30 customers will also get the Vivo TWS Neo earbuds.

Vivo V20

The Vivo V20 features a 6.44″ Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. The device has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable via a microSD card.

For taking pictures, it gets a triple-camera setup at the rear which houses a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter that also works for macro and a 2MP mono camera for depth sensing. Upfront, the screen has a tiny notch which houses a 44MP selfie camera that can support 4K selfie video and 240fps slow-mo.

Powering the V20 is a 4,000mAh battery which supports 33W Flash Charge via USB-C. According to Vivo, you can get 0-65% charge in just 30 minutes. The device is only 7.38mm thin and it still gets a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of colours, it’s offered in Sunset Melody and Midnight Jazz.

Vivo V20 Pro 5G

The V20 Pro 5G is the highest-spec variant in the V20 lineup. It also has a similar 6.44″ Full HD+ AMOLED display but the Pro boasts a higher 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G that comes with liquid cooling pipes to keep it cool. This is the same processor that you’ll find one the OnePlus Nord and the Vivo X50 series and it supports 5G networks in both SA and NSA architecture. It comes equipped with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage but without microSD card expansion.

In the camera department, upfront, it gets a wider notch to house a dual-selfie camera which consists of a 44MP main shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. At the rear, it retains the same triple-camera setup consisting of a 64MP main, 8MP utlra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP mono camera.

Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery and it also supports 33W flash charge via USB-C. Unfortunately, there’s no headphone jack. The device comes in either Moonlight Sonata or Midnight Jazz.
