Air Selangor: Water supply restoration starts at 8.00am on Tuesday, to be completed by Friday

Air Selangor has just updated that all four of its water treatment plants – Sungai Selangor Phase 1, 2, 3 and Rantau Panjang, have resumed operations at 6.00pm this evening. The four plants will operate at maximum capacity to fill up the main pipes and terminal pools.

The latest water disruption was caused by contamination that was detected at 2.00am this morning. As a result, water supply was interrupted for 1,292 areas in Petaling, Gombak, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Selangor, Kuala Langat and Hulu Selangor.

Restoration will begin from tomorrow, 8.00am on 20th October and the water works company have provided a schedule for water supply restoration by areas. According to the list, 594 areas will be fully restored on Wednesday, 21st October at 8.00am. This is followed by 266 more areas on Thursday, 22nd October at 8.00am and the remaining 432 areas will regain full supply on Friday, 23rd October at 8.00am.

Air Selangor restoration schedule

While restoration is in progress, Air Selangor has mobilised 91 water tank trunks to critical areas including hospitals and dialysis centres. Consumers can also utilise 21 public taps and 34 static tanks located at 17 designated service centres during the disruption period.
