With 2021 just around the corner, Samsung is definitely busy with its upcoming flagship which will launch in the first quarter of year. Ahead of the next Unpacked event, serial leakster Steve of @OnLeaks has dropped high-resolution CAD renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 (or probably Galaxy S30).
Most Android smartphones launched this year had a rectangular camera bump that’s massive in size. If you’re getting bored with that design, it appears that Samsung is trying something different for the Galaxy S21.
If you look closely, the camera bump is now aligned directly on the top left corner of the back panel. The bump still protrudes out slightly with rounded off corners for the top left and bottom right. As shown here, the S21 still features a triple-camera setup and the LED flash is placed outside the bump.
The S21 also features a curved metal frame that now comes with a dual-layer look that flows from the camera bump element. According to Steve, the S21 is 7.9mm thick or 9.0mm with the camera bump included. Like any new Samsung flagship, it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
At the moment, what we are seeing here is the base model Galaxy S21 which is said to come with a 6.2″ flat display. It seems that Samsung is continuing the Galaxy Note 20’s trend by offering a flat display for its non-Ultra model. The device still gets a punch-hole camera for selfies and we reckon that it might have a smaller cut-out than the current S20 series. Apart from the S21, Samsung will also release the larger Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Steve hasn’t shared any hardware specs at the moment but the new S21 series is speculated to run on a newer Exynos 2100 which might be more superior than Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 875. In terms of availability, Samsung is rumoured to release its next generation Galaxy S21 earlier in January and Steve’s source appears to have confirmed this speculation.
