Razer has debuted its first gaming chair, the Iskur during its inaugural Razercon 2020 online event. It is worth pointing out that the Iskur looks just like a black and green version of the Secretlab Omega / Titan gaming chair, as pointed out by The Verge.
The design, recline mechanism, stitching and even the 4D armrests closely resemble Secretlab’s offering. Though the one area that sets the Iskur apart is its special ergonomic lumbar support system. More on that later.
The Irvine-based company has since responded to The Verge saying that the chair was designed and developed in-house and was not a collaboration with Secretlab. This was also confirmed by a tweet by the Singapore-based gaming chair maker.

But let’s get back to examining the Razer Iskur itself. It comes with a head cushion that is filled with memory foam while the chairs in the lower part of the chair are filled with high density foam that is said to provide support and comfort to users.
On both sides of the chair are two 4D armrests that can be adjusted up, down, side-to-side, and backwards and forwards. The backrest can be leaned back and forth and there is also height adjustment.
Razer claims the Iskur’s ergonomic lumbar support system provides total lower back support. You get a built-in fully adjustable lumbar curve that juts out and looks like a snake’s belly, closely aligns with the full curvature of the spine to achieve a neutral spin position for a healthy posture.
The gaming chair is said to be wrapped in multi layered synthetic leather that sits in between the top Resin layer that shines and cotton, polyester layer beneath it. Razer claims the material be more durable than standard PU leather while enabling it to withstand long of wear and tear.
According to Razer, the Iskur’s steel-reinformed body, arm rests and wheelbase are capable of supporting a weight up to 136kg and is ideal for gamers with a height of 170cm (5’6″) – 190cm (6’2″).
Razer said it offers a three-year warranty for the chair that covers defective part and components. This does not include standard wear and tear.
Razer’s entry into the gaming chair space comes at a time when is lots of competition. This includes gaming chairs made in collaboration between different brands like Acer’s Predator x Osim and Herman Miller x Logitech G. We even have upcoming entries being developed by Asus and Ikea in the not so distant future.
The Razer Iskur is available now for pre-order on Razer’s online store for USD 499 (RM2,064) and it is expected to ship by 29 October 2020. There is however no word if and when the chair will make will be sold in Malaysia.
