Official: A sneak peek at the upcoming OnePlus 8T

The OnePlus 8T is going to launch any day now, and we’ve already had a series of leaks on the upcoming flagship smartphone from the company. In fact, some key specs have already been confirmed—including a 6.55″ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is particularly noteworthy, as this means that the OnePlus 8T will be the first non-Pro smartphone from the company to feature a 120Hz refresh rate.

And now, we get a first (official) look at the upcoming flagship smartphone from the company, courtesy of OnePlus. Have a look:

The first thing you notice is that the camera bump has been moved to the corner on the back of the phone, which gives it a look that’s similar to many smartphones in the market today. It also sports a new colour, Aquamarine Green, and it looks like the back of the phone retains the curved edges on its back—just like recent OnePlus smartphones.

What’s interesting is that, according to CEO Pete Lau, the glossy back should be fairly resistant to fingerprints:

“This version takes advantage of diffuse reflection, a form of light refraction that scatters light in an expansive array of angles and directions, to produce a clean, gleaming surface that effectively mitigates the buildup of fingerprints.”

On the camera bump, you can also see that there is a 48MP sensor, with optical image stabilisation. It looks like a quad-camera setup, although no official details have been revealed just yet. As for that display, it has already been confirmed that the OnePlus 8T will use a 2.5D “flexible” panel, which will help to improve light permeability—and also offer a max brightness of 1,100 nits.

So, what do you think? We still aren’t sure if a Pro version is coming or not. Rumours suggest that an Ultra model will replace the Pro as the range-topper, although this is still speculation at this point. For now, the launch is set to take place on the 14th of October 2020, so remember to keep SoyaCincau.com bookmarked for future updates.
