DBKL parking machines are officially dead, only mobile payments are accepted

Kuala Lumpur City Hall has announced that it’s going completely cashless and they are discontinuing its parking machines. This change will affect all on-street parking starting 1st October 2020 and you won’t be able to pay by coins or with a physical Touch ‘n Go card.

According to DBKL’s notice on Facebook, the contract for the parking machines will end on 30th September. Moving forward, all road users are required to use the following applications and eWallets:

DBKL also explained that integration works with Boost and Touch ‘n Go eWallet are still in progress. Both eWallets initially allowed users to pay for DBKL parking but it appears to be unavailable at the moment. Interestingly, there’s no mention of JomParking.

Unfortunately, daily and monthly pass are not available at the moment. DBKL says the parking passes will be activated after its system upgrade is complete. Applications for special parking lot are still operating as usual and the rate is still maintained. KL City Hall hopes the public will get accustomed to the new payment methods for on-street parking.
