COVID-19: Malaysia records 111 new cases today, there are now 858 active cases

Malaysia has reported 111 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of confirmed cases to 10,687. Fortunately, there are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 133.

The Ministry of Health has reported 30 new recoveries today and a total of 9,696 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 90.73% while the mortality rate is at 1.24%.

COVID-19 Malaysia

There are currently 858 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are currently isolated and receiving treatment. 4 patients are in ICU and 3 of them require respiratory support.

Out of the 111 new cases reported today, 4 are imported while 107 are transmitted locally. The imported cases are all foreigners with 2 that have arrived from Indonesia, 1 from India and 1 from Singapore.

COVID-19 states

In terms of local cases, Sabah has the most with 97 cases. This include 74 cases from the Bangau-bangau cluster and 13 cases from the Benteng cluster.

Kedah has 8 new cases which include 7 from the Sungai cluster. There’s also one new case each in Selangor and Pahang. The Ministry of Health has also identified a new imported cluster in Johor.
