Socar now offers one-way intercity bookings to Ipoh

Car sharing platform Socar has finally extended its one-way intercity feature to Ipoh, Perak. This allows you to pick up a car from Kuala Lumpur, Penang or Johor Bahru and then drop it off at a designated intercity zone in Ipoh. It’s now available at very selected Socar zones.

To book a car for a one-way intercity trip, you’ll need to find a Socar zone that’s marked Intercity. Do note that not all intercity zones will work for Ipoh trips. In the Klang Valley, we noticed that the zones which allow drop offs in Ipoh are MidValley and Giant Hypermarket Shah Alam.

At the moment, it seems that Socar isn’t charging any extra fees for the intercity arrangement. That means you’ll be paying the same rate as a regular round-trip booking within the same city.

In Ipoh, the intercity pick-up/drop-off point is at Tesco Extra Ipoh Garden. If you’re picking it up from this location, you may drop it off at Arena Curve in Penang, Midvalley City in KL, Giant Hypermarket Shah Alam and Sutera Mall, Johor.

You can learn more about making an intercity booking here. If you’re new to Socar, you can sign up here.
