Firefly Passport: Fly unlimited times within West Malaysia from RM399

Malaysia Airlines’ subsidiary, Firefly, is introducing their Firefly Passport, which is a travel pass for unlimited flights to domestic destinations. You can choose between two options—the RM399 deal for 3 months, and the RM699 deal for 6 months.

The deal is similar to AirAsia‘s Unlimited Pass Cuti-Cuti Malaysia deal, also for RM399. AirAsia’s deal allows you to make domestic trips from 25 June 2020 until 31 March 2021, which is almost for a whole year.

While the Firefly Passport is a more expensive deal considering you’d only get 3 months for RM399, AirAsia’s pass is no longer available. Whereas the Passport is available for you to purchase from 24 August 2020 to 30 August 2020.

Firefly operates flights to several destinations within West Malaysia including Subang, Penang, Langkawi, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan and Johor Bahru. Due to the current pandemic situation, international travel is still not permitted.

How to purchase Firefly Passport

  • Go to the Firefly website
  • Select ‘Login/Signup’
  • Click on ‘Firefly Passport’
  • Fill in the User ID and Password
  • Click on ‘Next’ to proceed
  • Select ‘Buy Travel Pass’
  • Select the preferred Travel Pass at Travel Pass column
  • Click on ‘Next’ to proceed.
  • You can book the flight as normal after they purchased Firefly Passport

Similarly to the AirAsia deal, Firefly Passport is also only valid for the base fare and does not include any add-ons, surcharges, taxes, and SST. But unlike AirAsia’s unlimited pass, flight changes are allowed up to 7 days before the flight departure but a change fee will be applicable.

The pass is tied to a single person and it is non-transferable and non-refundable. According to the T&C, the unlimited pass will be forfeited after two no shows. Firefly also says that the pass is also subject to seat availability and you can’t use it for certain blackout dates that cover festive seasons.

Bookings can only be made through Firefly’s website. You can click here for more information, and here for their FAQ.
