Malaysia has recorded 7 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of cases to 9,274. There are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 125.
The Ministry of Health has reported 6 new recoveries which brings the total number of recoveries to 8,965. The recovery rate is currently 96.67% while the mortality rate is 1.35%.
There are currently 184 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 8 patients are in ICU with 5 requiring respiratory support.
Out of the 7 cases today, there are 2 imported cases and 5 are transmitted locally. The imported cases include 2 Malaysians returning from the Philippines and the United States respectively.
In terms of local cases, all 5 are reported in Sarawak which consists of 3 foreigners and 2 Malaysians. According to the Ministry, 3 cases were detected through screening at the workplace and a case detected from a pre-delivery screening. The remaining case was detected during pre-departure screening before the individual returns to the origin country. There are no new cases from the Tawar cluster reported today.
