There are currently 192 active cases remaining which are currently receiving treatment. 8 patients are in ICU while 2 require respiratory support.

Out of the 7 cases today, 4 are imported while 3 are transmitted locally. The imported cases include 2 foreigners and 1 Malaysian arriving from Bangladesh and 1 Malaysian arriving from the United Kingdom.

All 3 local COVID-19 cases reported today are in Kedah and all are Malaysians. 2 cases are from the Sala cluster and there’s 1 from the Tawar cluster. There are no new cases reported from the Sivagangga cluster.

The Sala cluster currently has a total of 8 positive cases and a total of 635 individuals have been screened so far with 144 awaiting results. Meanwhile, the Tawar cluster has accumulated 47 positive cases and a total of 1,490 have been tested. 360 individuals are still awaiting results.

According to the Ministry of Health, the source of infection for both Sala and Tawar cluster is still under investigation. However, based on their findings, the spread for both clusters was due to failure to comply fully with the SOP during home visits.
