Samsung is expected to announce a new pair of Galaxy Buds alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series. The new TWS is called the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live and it looks nothing like your conventional wireless earbuds.

After serial leakster @evleaks revealed the Buds Live design along with its accompanying case, there’s now a new leak by @h0x0d which reveals additional details. As shown earlier, the new Buds Live will also come in the same Mystic Bronze paint job as the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

This time we get to see the inner side of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live which comes with 2 connector points, 2 grills and one large hole which could be used as a proximity sensor. The earbuds themselves are shaped like kidney beans and it appear to fit snugly despite it not being an in-ear design.

It would be interesting to see if it could fit comfortably across all ear types. Unlike the current Galaxy Buds and Buds+, it doesn’t seem to offer additional silicon attachments to provide a secure fit.

While Apple’s AirPods Pro offer active noise cancellation, most people would expect Samsung to respond with a similar offering. From the leaked video above, it appears that the Buds Live might come with noise cancellation.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Live Keep the Noise out

In the final few frames, it says “Keep the noise out. Let the sound in”. Perhaps there’s some form of active noise cancellation and we are guessing that it would still offer a pass-thru feature which allows you to listen to your surroundings without taking the buds off. Since it isn’t the in-ear type, we are curious to hear how effective it is in isolating background sound.

The full details should be revealed on the 5th of August at 10pm Malaysian time. Looking at the past pre-order promotion, we are guessing that Samsung Malaysia might offer the new TWS for free or with a purchase-with-purchase discount during the Note 20 pre-order. The current Samsung Galaxy Buds+ retails for RM599 and we expect the new Buds Live to come with a higher price tag.
