Shopee introduces own-brand Visa credit card in partnership with Maybank

Shopee, Maybank and Visa have teamed up to introduce a new credit card which lets you earn Shopee coins for both online and offline transactions. Aimed at digital-savvy consumers, cardholders can earn up to 5x Shopee coins during Shopee’s selected campaigns.

For online spending, you can get 5x Shopee coins on the 28th of every month or during Chinese New Year, Raya, 9.9, 11.11 and 12.12 sales. The card offers 4x Shopee coins for offline transactions such as dining, entertainment and contactless payments. The card also gives you 1x Shopee coins for all other expenses.

With the Shopee coins, cardholders can use it to offset future purchases on Shopee’s eCommerce platform. Additional earnings beyond 5,000 Shopee Coins each month will be rewarded in the form of Maybank TreatPoints.

Apart from earning Shopee Coins, cardholders can also enjoy exclusive 50% off offers on Shopee for selected brands including P&G, Enfagrow A+, Tefal, Realme, Anello, Arctic Hunter and more. You can check out the full list of offers here.

During Shopee’s 7.7 Mid-Year Sale, Shopee users can get 50% coins cashback on a daily basis. Users also stand a chance to win up to 7 million Shopee coins by playing Shopee Claw, Shopee Candy, Shopee Garden, Shopee Poly, Shopee Dance and other various games.

For those that apply for the Maybank Shopee Credit Card, you can get 5,000 Shopee coins as a welcome gift. In addition, new cardholders can also get a RM500 Shopee voucher when they spend RM300 within 45 days. Take note that the extra voucher is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Maybank Shopee Credit Card is available for new registrations starting on Maybank’s website from the 1st July 2020. The card comes with a lifetime annual fee waiver and it is open to individuals aged between 21 to 65 years old with a minimum income of RM36,000 per annum.
