Realme C11 is launching on 30 June and here’s what we know so far

After introducing a series of wearables, headphones and power banks, Realme Malaysia is about to reveal its C11 that’s expected to be one of their most affordable smartphones. The device will be announced next week and it appears to be making its global debut here in Malaysia.

The Realme C11 launch event is taking place on the 30th of June 2020 at 11am. You can watch the event live from Realme Malaysia’s Facebook page.

According to the teaser, the C11 will be the world’s first smartphone to run on MediaTek Helio G35 processor and it is said to come with a bigger battery.

Looking at the processor, the phone is expected to be more affordable than the Helio G70 powered Realme C3 that’s currently priced at RM499 in Malaysia. Although it might be a budget phone, the Helio G series is said to be designed specifically for gaming. From the initial picture, the C11 will likely get a plastic back with subtle textures to give it a more upmarket look.

A purported leaked image of the device was spotted online and it appears to come with a square camera bump that houses dual-cameras which seems to be a downgrade from the C3. The image also mentions that the device will come with a 6.5″ “mini-drop” full-screen display and has a 5,000mAh battery.

Interestingly, the device doesn’t seem to come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is possible that the feature is omitted due to its ultra-budget pricing or perhaps it might come with a side-mounted unit. However, it still has a headphone jack but it isn’t clear if it uses USB-C or a micro-USB port for its charging port.

Since the Realme C3 (3GB RAM +32GB storage) is already priced at RM499, it would be interesting to see how low can the C11 go. At the moment, it appears that the Redmi 9 currently offers the best value for money for less than RM500.

The base model with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage is priced at RM499 but it comes with a 6.53″ Full HD+ display, MediaTek Helio G80 processor, a quad-camera setup and a 5,020mAh battery that charges via USB-C. In addition, it still has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and an infrared blaster.
