MIUI: Android 11 Beta is coming to Xiaomi’s Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Poco F2 Pro soon

Android 11 is set to bring about a few changes, with the official release expected in the next few months or so (despite the cancellation of Google I/O). The first Android 11 Beta has already been released, with developers spotting things like integrated Smart Home controls, among others. While the beta is only available to Google’s own Pixel devices for now, smartphone manufacturers can now release Android 11 betas of their own—complete with their own UIs.

Xiaomi has now confirmed that the Android 11 beta will be coming to several of their phones, including the Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, as well as the recently-launched Poco F2 Pro. The confirmation was made from the MIUI official Twitter account, perhaps indicative that the beta version will run with MIUI on top. That said, there hasn’t been any confirmation if it will be on MIUI 11, or the new MIUI 12; the Poco F2 Pro also runs on MIUI, albeit with the Poco Launcher instead.

The possibility of a MIUI 12 + Android 11 beta release is certainly a tantalising one, especially since support for custom UIs or skins for Android beta builds is a fairly recent development. As such, users who are eligible for individual beta programs from manufacturers will be able to have the entire Android 11 experience specific to their device—MIUI for Xiaomi, in this case.

From what we already know, Android 11 will introduce a revamped power button menu. There will now be easy access to a carousell of debit or credit cards, which makes sense with the increasing trend of virtual cards and digital payment solutions. As mentioned above, there will also be a selection of tiles below the cards that help to control IoT devices in a Smart home. It’s still unclear how these controls will interact with Smart Home ecosystems, but it’s safe to assume that we will see integration with Google Home, at least.

Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed when the beta build for MIUI/Android 11 will be out, so remember to keep your browser locked onto SoyaCincau.com for the latest updates.
