Malaysia’s Elections Commission has revealed a total of 80,766 applications to register as a new voter were received in the first quarter of 2020. Meanwhile, 18,989 applications were made for a change of voting constituencies in the same period.

According to EC Chairman, Azhar Azizan Harun, the Draft Supplementary Electoral Roll (Rang Daftar Pemilih Tambahan – RDPT) for Q1 2020 will be displayed in public for 14 days starting today, 10th June until 23rd June 2020 at 915 locations nationwide.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Draft Supplementary Electoral Roll will not be shared in a hardcopy format. Instead, they will be placing A4-sized notice with QR codes at the relevant parliamentary constituencies. According to the Chairman, this is to prevent the public from touching the book.

If you’ve just registered as a new voter between January to March this year, you can check the RDPT for Q1 2020 on SPR’s website. You can click here to view the draft electoral roll and they have published the document according to each parliamentary constituency. The list includes the names and IC numbers of new registration, change of address and a list of people who have passed away that will be removed from the electoral roll.

For those who find their names missing can file a claim using Form B while registered voters that object to any names can fill up Form C. The forms are available at any EC state offices and it must be directed to the Registrar of Voters (State Election Director) for the relevant areas during office hours throughout the RPDT display period.
