Maxis has revamped its current postpaid plans with even more data for the same price. Most importantly, they are finally getting rid of the dreaded weekday-weekend data split. The new upgrade will take effect automatically starting from Thursday, 4th June 2020.
The base Maxis Postpaid 98 which comes with 20GB all-day and 10GB of 4G weekend data is now upgraded to 40GB/month of data which you can use all-day. If you currently topped-up RM10/month to combine all-day and weekend data on Postpaid 98, you’ll receive a total of 50GB/month.
For Maxis Postpaid 128, 158 and 188 users, you’ll receive an extra 20GB, 30GB and 40GB respectively. Below are the full postpaid upgrade details:
Meanwhile, for those on Maxis Postpaid Share 48 supplementary line, you’ll get a total of 30GB all-day data instead of the current 10GB + 10GB allocation. If you’re on the Tablet 28 plan, your 10GB quota will be tripled to 30GB.
According to Maxis, the upgrade process will take place between 4th to 10th of June 2020. You will be notified by SMS once the upgrade is completed. New subscribers can enjoy the new upgraded plans from 4th June.
During the 7-day upgrade period, no change of share limit quota between family lines or change of rate plan will be allowed. The upgraded data will not be prorated and you’ll receive the full quota after the upgrade.
The last major Maxis postpaid upgrade was in 2017. Last year, the green telco had upgraded its base Postpaid 98 plan with more data and they have provided the option to merge all-day and weekend data for an additional RM10/month.
For more info, you can check out Maxis’ upgrade notice on their website. If you didn’t notice, Maxis has recently changed its MaxisONE plan branding to simply Maxis Postpaid.
