COVID-19: New cases drop to 20 today, only 5 cases are local while 15 are imported

The Ministry of Health has recorded 20 new cases today, which brings the total number of COVID-19 infections in Malaysia to 7,877. There are no new deaths reported today and the death toll remains unchanged at 115 for 11 days straight.

There are 66 new recoveries today and a total of 6,470 patients have recovered and discharged. The recovery rate is now 82.14% while the mortality rate is 1.46%.

There are currently 1,292 active cases remaining which are currently isolated and receiving treatment. 6 are in ICU while 2 are in ICU.

Out of the 20 cases reported today, 15 cases are imported and 5 cases are transmitted locally. From the local cases, 2 are Malaysians while the remaining 3 are foreigners. The 2 Malaysian cases were found in Sabah and Negeri Sembilan. For the local non-Malaysian cases, 2 are reported in Selangor while 1 case is from Kuala Lumpur.

The 15 imported cases consist of 7 individuals returning from Egypt, 5 from Saudi Arabia, and one each from India, Mexico and China.
