COVID-19: New cases drop to 38 today, no new deaths for 10 days

Malaysia has recorded 38 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total of infections to 7,857. Fortunately, there are no new deaths recorded today and the death toll remains unchanged at 115 for 10 days straight.

There are also 51 recoveries today and a total of 6,404 patients have recovered and discharged. The recovery rate is now 81.51% while the mortality rate is 1.46%.

At the moment, there are still 1,338 active cases remaining which are still receiving treatment. 8 are in ICU while 2 cases require respiratory support.

Out of the 38 cases reported today, 26 are imported and there are 12 local transmissions. Out of the 12 local cases, 6 are Malaysians while the remaining 6 are foreigners. The ministry has updated that a new Cheras apartment cluster has been detected with 6 cases so far. For today, there are 3 new cases from the Cheras apartments, 2 from the cleaning company cluster and 1 from Pudu.
