Huawei MateBook X Pro 2020 has arrived in Malaysia, priced from RM7999

The latest Huawei MateBook X Pro which was announced a few months ago is going on sale in Malaysia this weekend. This is Huawei’s top-of-the-line laptop that comes with 10th gen Intel Core i7 processor and a high-resolution 13.9″ touch screen display.

Pricing and availability

The Huawei MateBook X Pro will be available nationwide from the 16th May 2020. At the moment, they are only offering a single variant and below is the official pricing in Malaysia:



Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, MX250 – RM7,999

As an early bird promo, Huawei is offering RM1,936 worth of freebies. This includes the Huawei Sound X, a Huawei Bluetooth Mouse, a Huawei Backpack and a Huawei Band 4. The MateBook X Pro will be available in Space Grey during the initial sale, while the Emerald Green version will be released at a later date. The laptop is already listed on Huawei Malaysia’s online store.

MateBook X Pro specs

The MateBook X Pro features a 13.9″ LTPS display that pushes a resolution of 3000×2000 pixels with an aspect ratio of 3:2. It has a maximum brightness of 450 nits and it is also touch-enabled supporting 10-point multi-touch. With its slim bezels, the laptop boasts a high 91% screen-to-body ratio.



Under the hood, it runs on Intel’s 10th gen Core i7-10510U processor and it can be configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe SSD. The laptop is equipped with Nvidia GeForce MX250 with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM.

It also comes with quad-speakers and there is also a quad-microphone setup that claims to be able to pick up your voice from up to 4 metres away. Like its predecessor, there’s also a hidden 1MP webcam that sits between the F6 and F7 function keys. Also included is an integrated fingerprint sensor on the power button.

In terms of connectivity, it has a single USB-A port (USB 3.0 with 5V/2A output) on the right and two USB-C ports (1x 5V/3A output, 1x 5V/2A output) on the left. The MateBook X Pro also supports 802.11ac WiFi with 2×2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.0. If you have a compatible Huawei device, it also supports Huawei Share for multi-screen collaboration.

Powering the laptop is a 56Wh Lithium Polymer battery which is rated to last up to 15 hours for “regular work” or up to 13 hours of video playback. Included is a 65W USB-C charger which can push 6 hours of usage in just 30 minutes on the cable. It weighs 1.33kg and has a thickness of 14.6mm. You can learn more at Huawei Malaysia’s product page.
