You can donate to COVID-19 aid fundraiser on MyDigi app

In their first online video press conference, Digi let’s their customers donate to the Yellow Heart COVID-19 Aid crowdfunding initiative. The campaign complements Digi’s existing RM1 million contribution to the GLC Disaster Relief Network (GDRN) coalition to support the Ministry of Health (MOH) in addressing the COVID-19 crisis.

The crowdfunding initiative aims to enable Digi customers to join in the cause to collect funds in support of the MOH and frontline healthcare workers as they fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign will run for four weeks, and all proceeds will be used to acquire medical equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies required for hospitals involved in COVID-19 aid across Malaysia, as guided by MOH.

Digi customers can donate by logging into their MyDigi app (iOS, Android) and you’ll see the Yellow Heart COVID-19 Aid donate button on the front page. You will have the choice to donate RM2, RM5, RM10, RM20, or all four options. However, you can only donate each of the four options once, and the maximum amount you could donate would be RM37.

For example, if you wanted to donate RM10, you can only press the RM10 button once. If you would like to donate more, you may click the other prices (RM2, RM5, or RM20) but you may only click them once each as well. The most you can donate is the total of the four: RM2 + RM5 +RM10 + RM20 = RM37.

For post-paid users, the donation will show up on your next bill. For pre-paid users, the donation will minus off your current credit.

Digi also said that the initiative will appear as a pop-up on the app, as well as push notifications and even through SMS to help get the word out. You can also choose to make your donations through their website here. 100% of the proceeds will go to support MOH via GDRN, and you can even track how much is being donated so far here or through the MyDigi app.

You can only donate to the fund if you’re a Digi user. But if you aren’t a Digi user, you can find a friend who is a Digi customer and ask them to make the donation on your behalf.

The donation campaign ends on 20th May, and their goal to reach is RM50,000. Customers can learn more about the COVID-19 Aid campaign here.
