Celcom offers COVID-19 insurance protection for RM1/month

Celcom is offering its customers an affordable insurance protection plan which provides additional coverage for COVID-19. It costs just RM1/month and you can activate it now from your phone.

This insurance plan is offered to new and existing Celcom postpaid and prepaid customers. This is applicable to both Malaysians and foreigners legally residing in Malaysia, that are aged between 16 to 80 years old.

The protection plan is called Aspirasi C-Protect, and it’s a 24-hour worldwide group personal accident insurance underwritten by Great Eastern General Insurance (M) Berhad that’s offered through the Aspirasi platform.

Insurance benefits

The plan offers RM2,000 sum insured for accidental death and RM1,000 for accidental permanent disablement. In addition, the plan also offers up to RM1,000 to reimburse the total of your last bill paid for Celcom in the event of accidental death, accidental total permanent disablement or hospitalisation for more than 4 days due to an accident.

On top of that, the plan also offers hospitalisation cash assistance of RM200/day up to 60 days of hospitalisation upon diagnosis of COVID-19 and kept under quarantine at any MoH designated hospitals. There’s also a lump sum death benefit of RM20,000 per life upon death due to COVID-19.

Sign up for Aspirasi C-Protect

To sign up, just dial *365*6# and then click Subscribe via the USSD. Alternatively, you can also sign up via the Celcom Life App. The premium will be charged to your postpaid or prepaid mobile account.

For subscriptions made before 15th April, the premium will be charged on 15th April 2020. Subscriptions made after that will be charged immediately.

Apart from this initiative, Celcom is contributing free SIM cards to returning Malaysians that are placed at quarantine centres. The blue telco has also offered free SIMs to medical frontliners and they have set up a mobile base station to boost network reception at Hospital Sungai Buloh.
