As announced by the Malaysian government, all returning Malaysians will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine order starting 3rd April 2020. To ensure everyone stays connected, Celcom is providing free SIMs to Malaysians undergoing quarantine at the respective centres.

Malaysians at the quarantine centres may request for a free SIM pack from the authorities and they can self-register the SIM card via the Celcom Life app. The prepaid SIMs come preloaded with 1GB of data and 10GB of access to Facebook, Instagram and Games Walla.

On top of that, they will also receive free 1GB data daily along with free data for WhatsApp and Microsoft Office 365 between 8am to 6pm throughout the MCO period. Users can continue using the SIMs by making a minimum reload on the Celcom Life app.

According to Celcom CEO Idham Nawawi, Celcom will leave no one behind and is committed to stand together with Malaysians. They are working closely with the authorities to ensure everyone remains connected during these challenging times.

To support our medical frontliners, Celcom has also provided 200 free postpaid SIMs with 20GB data and unlimited calls to enable on-ground medical staff in managing COVID-19 cases. On top of that, they have also deployed Celcom’s Cellular-On-Wheels to boost network reception around Sungai Buloh Hospital as well as providing home wireless internet access at MOH’s media centres in Putrajaya and Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru.
