MCO: Here’s how to redeem your free 1GB daily data from Maxis

As announced by the MCMC, Maxis will be offering free 1GB of data daily to its subscribers. This will be applicable to Maxis and Hotlink Flex postpaid as well as Hotlink prepaid customers.

The free 1GB data will be offered every day beginning 1st April until the Movement Control Order is lifted, which is tentatively extended until the 14th of April 2020. Similar to other telcos, the provided free data is only applicable between 8am to 6pm daily, and any usage outside these hours will utilise your existing data quota.

To redeem it, you’ll have to use the self-care app and below is how you can get it:

Maxis Postpaid
MyMaxis App – Click on “Get More Data” and select Free 1GB/ Day Pass under Time Based Pass

Maxis Biz Postpaid
MyMaxis Biz App – Click on “Get More Data” and select Free 1GB/ Day Pass under Time Based Pass

Hotlink Flex Postpaid
Hotlink Flex App – Click on “Get More Data” and select Free 1GB/ Day Pass under Time Based Pass

Hotlink Prepaid
Hotlink RED App – Click on the Homepage Banner and select FREE 1GB / Day Pass or activate the Pass under ‘Shop’ tab

Do note that the free data isn’t given automatically and you’ll have to redeem it on a daily basis. You can only redeem once a day and you can’t redeem it in advance for the next day. Supplementary lines are able to activate the Free 1GB pass themselves or alternatively, the primary line holder can also activate for them via the MyMaxis app.

This free 1GB per day offer is not applicable to MaxisONE Prime customers as they are already having unlimited data. In case you missed it, Maxis postpaid customers can redeem their free 3GB of data since 27th March 2020 via the MyMaxis app. This is a one-off offer and it is valid for a period of 30 days.

We are also told that the free unlimited access to Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams with no data capping is no longer available.

For Hotlink users, Maxis is still offering 20GB of free data when you purchase the HotlinkMU #StayHome internet pass. The validity of the 20GB data depends on the pass you purchase.
