Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip is now open for pre-order in Malaysia. Unlike the Galaxy Fold, this is a clamshell device that comes with a foldable 6.7″ AMOLED display.
According to Samsung Malaysia’s website, the Galaxy Z Flip is officially priced at RM5,888. This is RM2,500 cheaper than the Galaxy Fold. The pre-order appears to be available only for today from 10am to 10pm.
Pre-order customers will be provided with a Galaxy Z Premier service that consists of a 24/7 Premium Careline, free on-site pickup and delivery for service support within 12 months of purchase and priority/express lane at the service centre, plus one (1) screen protection which conists of 1-time inner screen crack replacement.
The Galaxy Z Flip is available on their official E-Stores and you are required to enter the promo code ZFLIPVIP before checking out.
To recap, the Galaxy Z Flip was announced alongside the latest Galaxy S20 series. On the inside, it features a 6.7″ Infinity Flex AMOLED display that pushes Full HD+ resolution. There’s a tiny punch-hole at the top that houses a 10MP selfie camera. On the cover, there’s a small 1.1″ always-on AMOLED display which shows the time, notification and you can use it as a viewfinder for taking selfies with the rear camera.
The foldable device runs on Snapdragon 855+ with 8GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. On the cover, it houses a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. Powering the device is a modest 3,300mAh battery that is rated to last a full day. It also supports 15W fast charging via USB-C as well as Qi Wireless charging. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor but there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack.
