TNB chairman Leo Moggie resigns

After 15 years of service, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) chairman Tan Sri Leo Moggie has tendered his resignation which will take effect from 12th March 2020. He did not renew his contract which was extended last year.

Before his appointment at TNB, Leo Moggie was a Member of Parliament for Kanowit, Sarawak from 1974 to 2004. He was also the former Minister of Energy, Communications and Multimedia Minister between 1999 to 2004, the Minister of Energy, Telecommunications and Posts from 1995 to 1999, the Minister of Works between 1989 to 1995 and the Minister of Energy, Telecommunications and Posts from 1978 to 1989.

Leo Moggie will be replaced by Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, a current director at TNB and the secretary-general of Treasury, Ministry of Finance. TNB’s board of directors have approved his appointment as chairman and non-independent non-executive director of the group for a period of 3 years from 12 March 2020 to 11 March 2023.
