Gobind Singh no longer Minister of Communications and Multimedia

All cabinet members including Gobind Singh Deo, the Minister of Communications and Multimedia have been removed, following the resignation of Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir. The announcement was made by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali.

According to the announcement, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has revoked the appointment of ministers under the advice of the Prime Minister in accordance with the Federal Constitution’s Article 43(5) on 24th February 2020.

With immediate effect, all duties of members of the administration including deputy prime minister, ministers, deputy ministers and political secretaries will cease. After Tun Mahathir’s resignation letter was accepted by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, he was appointed as the interim PM until a successor is named and a new Cabinet is formed.
