Deal: Xiaomi Mi 9 now going from as low as RM1,289

Xiaomi is having a Chinese New Year promo for its Snapdragon 855-powered smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 9 which was introduced last year is now going for as low as RM1,289.

Originally priced at RM1,699, the Mi 9 with 64GB is now going for RM1,299. On Shopee, the same device is offered at a slightly cheaper price at RM1,289 and it comes with a free screen protector.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 features a 6.39″ Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 855 processor. For Malaysia, the device is offered with 6GB of RAM and storage options of either 64GB or 128GB which isn’t expandable.

For taking pictures, it has a 48MP f/1.8 main camera, 12MP f/2.2 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera. The tiny notch on the screen houses a 20MP selfie shooter. Powering the device is a modest 3,300mAh battery but it does support 27W fast wired charging as well as 20W fast wireless charging.

If you prefer a newer device with a larger 4,000mAh battery, the Mi 9T Pro with 64GB of storage is now going for RM1,499. Do note that it doesn’t support wireless charging but it does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The device also gets a 6.39″ Full HD+ AMOLED display but it has no notches since it uses a pop-up selfie camera. Although it also gets a 48MP main camera, the Mi 9T Pro uses a lower resolution 8MP f/2.4 camera for telephoto and it gets a 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera.
