Celcom lets you roam at high-speed even after you’ve finished your quota

Celcom has introduced a Roam Like Home feature which allows you to utilise your home data quota while you’re roaming overseas. It sounds like Yoodo’s offering but you can enjoy this feature at no extra charge. With Roam like Home, you can stay connected with high-speed connectivity even after your roaming quota is finished.

The Roam Like Home feature is applicable to Celcom postpaid customers on Gold Plan (RM80/month) and above. Do note that it isn’t offered at all roaming destinations as it is currently limited to 12 countries namely Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

At the moment, Celcom has three roaming plan options. There’s a 1-day pass with 500MB quota at RM38/day and a 3-day pass with 1.5GB of quota plus 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMS for RM88. For long-term usage, the 7-day pass costs RM138 and it comes with 3GB of data along with unlimited calls and SMS.

Celcom will inform you via SMS if you’ve utilised 100% usage of your roaming quota. If you’re visiting a country that isn’t covered by the “Roam like Home” feature, your speed will be throttled when your roaming data is depleted.

According to the FAQ, you can use up to a maximum of 100GB from your home data quota. It is also possible to use your combined weekday and weekend data quota if you have enabled Anyday GB for the plan.

For more info, visit Celcom’s Roaming page.
